Site Update - The Guitar Festival Timetable!
Well, here it is, the completed Festival Timetable. This is the final version but there may still be a little fine tuning to do, but nothing major (I hope!). Keep an eye on it over the next few weeks. Please note that we reserve the right to make changes to the timetable at any time, although they shouldn't be to numerous.

New Festival Artists - The South Australian Youth Guitar Ensemble

The newly formed South Australian Youth Guitar Ensemble (SAYGE) directed by Andras Tuske will be making a special trip to Darwin for this year's Festival. To see the emergence of another Youth ensemble is very exciting and hopefully the Festival will give the group a special opportunity to showcase their work. It will also give people a further opportunity to hear the important educational role such groups play in the development of our young musicians.

Festival Opening Night Concert - Guitar Trek

Australia's own Guitar Trek have established a fine reputation both here and overseas as one of the most innovative and exciting guitar ensembles on the concert circuit.

The Darwin International Guitar Festival is pleased to be able to announce that Guitar Trek will be presenting the opening concert of the Festival on the evening of the July 3rd. This will follow a major international tour and will give Festival audiences the opportunity to hear some of the major new Australian works that the group has recently added to their repertoire.
