About Darwin Darwin is the starting point for excursions to the top of the Top End. To the north the colourful religion and art of the Tiwi Islands. To the south, the kaleidoscope of rainforest, plunge pools, termite mounds and cycads of Litchfield National Park. To the east, the waterfalls, wetlands, and wildlife of Australia's own Kakadu National Park, also the untramelled beauty of Arnhem Land and the sailing and game fishing playgrounds of the Gove Peninsula. With all this Darwin has something for everyone. More information. Excellent accommodation is available for very reasonable rates at North Flinders House on the Northern Territory University campus.
