Christopher Sainsbury
Christopher Sainsbury is a composer and guitarist living in a coastal community near Sydney, Australia. Christopher has written for the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Queensland Philharmonic and several community orchestras, choirs and ensembles. His work has been performed at leading festivals in Australia and in Germany.

In recent years Christopher has focussed on writing for guitar within ensemble contexts. Various pieces have come out of this work, including the 'Concerto for Guitar - The Luthier', 'Melaluca Dream' for wind quintet with guitar, and a String Quartet with fretless bass. He has also transposed a number of piano works by Schoenberg, Ives and Grainger for the new Sydney Institute of Technology ensemble 'SITE' (scoring is for saxophone, mandolin and guitar). Christopher enjoys all music and writes in a wide variety of styles. He publishes his own music for guitar which is available through his business Guitar Spectrum Australia.

Christopher has advanced the timbral palette available to the contemporary guitarist through new developments in bi-tone performance and notation. His work in this field is now in text form and is also available through Guitar Spectrum Australia.

Christopher is married with three children, and holds the position of Head of Arts & Media at the Eora College of Sydney Institute, where he teaches guitar, songwriting and composition.
