Carlo Barone
Born in Vigevano (Italy), after finishing the “Liceo Classico” (studies of Ancient Latin and Greek, Art History and Philosophy), and music, Carlo Barone has devoted himself to the study and interpretation of the 19th century musical literature.

Numerous recordings, television and radio appearances, concerti with orchestra, and the modern premieres of guitar compositions which had remained unperformed for nearly 200 years have brought him wide critical acclaim, and established Mr. Barone's reputation as one the world's leading authorities of the early classic performance practice.

He has conducted and performed concerts, masterclasses, and lectures throughout Europe, USA, Canada and Australia and China, offering a varied concert program of works from the early to mid 19th century.

As a Conductor, he runs the Orchestra dell’Accademia l’Ottocento, the only Italian Orchestra with original Classical period instruments, with more than 30 Concerts a year. As a performer, he uses a variety of instruments by such makers as Carlo and Gaetano Guadagnini (Italian, ca. 1815 / 1828), Soriot (French, ca. 1830), Garganese (Italian, ca. 1820), Lacote (French, ca. 1825), etc.
